Having read many Amazon reviews and look at over 6 different makes and models, this is the one I went for. As you can see from the photos, it's a perfect fit for the larger side of our 1.5 sink (different sizes). While I liked the look of the classic stainless steel and black silicone edges, I couldn't find any of those that would fit. The internal dimensions of the sink you see here is 19", so anything less than that in H would not work for us. This is 20.5 making it more sturdy and usable. I cannot emphasize enough to measure your sink(s) BEFORE you purchase even if the manufacturer doesn't tell you to! You will save a lot of headaches that way....Very pleased with this item, color choices minimal but not a major factor. Size and functionality are the most important factors in play - at least for us.Hope the review and photos help your decision-making - it did ours.Update: 11/29/2016 - we still love ours and it's great, but..........just noticed the price has shot up to nearly $40 or more depending which vendor you are using! We purchased it a few weeks ago for $21.98. So, that is an almost 100% increase.....something is going on here!?
This is a sturdy drying rack that rolls up nicely when not in use. I gave it four stars even though we ended up needing another rack, because it functions exactly as I thought it would. We use ours quite a bit. However, if you cook a lot and have lots of heavy pots and pans, then I don't think this will be big enough. If you have wine glasses or bottles, they might not stay upright, since there is a little flex in the mat. If you have plates to wash, this isn't going to work well, either. It is nice that it doesn't take up counter space, but it does block access to the sink. I ended up buying a bamboo rack also, but we use both racks quite often. If you want this for an extra drying rack that can be easily put away, then this will be perfect.
I love the Surpahs roll up dish drying rack! I installed a huge, 9" deep, one-basin sink and putting my dish drain in the sink didn't work. I needed something to lift it off the bottom of the sink so the dishes I just washed didn't keep getting wet in my dish drain as I used the rest of the sink. You can see by my attached photos that the Surpahs drying rack works perfectly to support my dish drain which allows the dishes to dry and yet I can still squirt water underneath it when I need to. Works so well, I pat myself on my back for finding this clever solution!

I have used this rack for a month and it already has several rusty spots. Most of cups were rust stained. I have to say this is not worth $20 at all unless you need any rack shining but can't put any dish or cup.
WARNING: Amazon won't even let you return this piece of junk. It's "not eligible for return" under their new, customer last policy.Note - this review is for the 16" S-shape version of this awful item. I don't know how this made it as an "Amazon's Choice" pick. This is what the race to the bottom looks like. According to the box, it's "made of durable steel" and "high quality". This is not truth in advertising, it's just bold faced lies. The entire product feels light, flimsy, and cheap. The holes on the two sides have sharp, unfinished edges from where the drill punched out. They also only grudgingly match the ends they're supposed to go through, so you need to wrestle a bit to assemble this thing. There are also four plastic caps that are supposed to fit into some the ends of the S-curves, but they're all slightly too large for the actual holes, so you kind of have to jam them in. Once you have it assembled, you can bask in the glow of sadness as you realize this thing is so light and cheaply made that it wobbles and doesn't stay in one place on the counter. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more on a better designed product.
I was very happy when I got this because it was small and fits our limited counter space but I can stack a lot of plates on it. But after a few days it started to rust to the point that the plates are getting stained! So we had to replace it right away than risk our health eating from rust stained plates! I can't believe I paid for something like this! Totally not usable anymore.

Great concept... with MOSTLY excellent implementation but one serious design flaw: the movable spout is so exact to the edge of the drainpan that the slightest mishap renders it essentially useless from a keeping the counter's dry perspective. (there's space there for them to design a different spout that has a flange that extends BENEATH the drain pan spiggot... thus, making this entire system essentially flawless.) however, without that flange (extension to the drain spout portion) any bit of food caught, any decrease in spout angle, anything... will cause water to drip or pour (depending) onto the countertop and amount being drained. we just finished a big cleanup of the floor and counter of dishwater that "escaped" their spout design.the good news is it is a simple fix (and, honestly, i am just going to jerry-rig it to fix it somehow) SO, MANUFACTURER... WHEN YOU COME UP WITH A FIX, MAKE SURE TO MARKET THAT CLEARLY because with that fix in place, this will be an amazing design. hope this helps..
I ordered this and was excited for it to arrive. Everything I've seen by OXO before has been good quality. This dish rack is designed terribly. Five hours after I washed the dishes, there was still water all over it - and the dishes. I did put the feet down to give it the incline to drain water, and it's still almost entirely flat. It's not big enough. The plate-holder part that pops up only works one direction (the plates fall over if you put them the other way). The cup holder pillars are too close together such that each glass will take up the space of at least two. It's really just awful. It came in the mail today and I have already put it back in the box to return it. Now I have to order something different and use flat towels until it shows up, which is a pain. DO. NOT. BUY. THIS.
I've been looking for a dish rack that: (A) won't rust, (B) has a drain spout (C) to hold my cutting boards. This one meets all of my requirements as it holds both of my cutting boards and I love the fact that you can customize it. You can fold down the plate rack to have more space and remove the 2 utensil holders (which have fine slots on the bottom to drain water). I'm glad to be free of my old rusty rubbermaid dish rack and hated the fact that the rust would rub off onto my dishes. I generally like to use my dishwasher to store dishes, so this is an added bonus and it holds my cutting boards. It's perfect for a household of 2 and I like the fact that I can fold it up (the two sides with the tines fold into the main compartment) for storing under my sink. I also love the fact that one side has foldable legs to tilt the tray for better drainage. I still folded a hand towel to prop it even higher with the legs in use. I would give it a 5, but I'm being knit-picky with the drainage. Some water does remain because the hole is sort of small and in the center of the long side of the rack (so water does accumulate along that side and can't drain optimally because there is nothing diverting the residual water), but I don't regret my purchase because it's stylish and functional enough. After I wash my dishes, I just jiggle my rack around to divert the water into the drain hole, but that's me being anal. If I were to upgrade the design, I would redesign the side with drain to better divert the water.

EXCELLENT for my 5th wheel!!! I live in my 5th wheel full time, its my primary residence. So, I've had to shop for things to make life a little easier and a lot organized.I have a single sink in the kitchen so I can't really wash the dishes and "set" them somewhere to rinse, then dry. I wanted an over-the-sink strainer versus a countertop one. This is PERFECT. The fit is as if it were made for the sink. I don't need to expand it, but I can if I wanted to put the strainer long-ways. It holds all the dishes I do, and my boyfriend dries them as I wash (or vice versa). Its perfect to leave there and just wash dishes as we go throughout the day, too. For storage it fits in the sink nicely, and of course I put the sink covers back on.We've stacked quite a few dishes in there, including a couple of stainless steel pots on top of our dinner plates & stuff. It held them great. The silverware holder is a little flimsy. The silverware tends to slide around instead of stay upright. But for wash/rinse/dry purposes it works beautifully.Love, love love this little strainer. Definitely recommend it.
I rent a small house and I don't have a lot of counter space. This dish rack is PERFECT!!!! It's stores away easily and I can fit way more in there then I imagined. It seemed smaller when I opened it and put it in my sink, but it was deceiving. In the photos I have:1 3 quart teal pot1 8' sauce pan1 medium plate1 cereal bowlA small cutting boardCooking utensils of varying sizesI a single person but I cook a lot and this is perfect for me. I would also think it would work well for a couple too.My parents have one in their 5th wheel and they and they love it.I only wish the other colors didn't cost so much more.
We have a basement apartment we rent out to vacationers. The sink is just a half-sink, and there isn't much counter space. This collapsible over the sink drainer is exactly what a space like this needs. It is perfect for a daily load of normal dishes - plates, bowls, cups, silverware. This is not meant for large pots and pans.We have a Progressive Collapsible colander, so I was familiar with the quality of the rubber material that collapses. The colander and the drainer have the same high quality rubber that collapses (just different colors). We've had the colander for several years, and it's used multiple times a week. It goes in the dishwasher regularly. It has not warped at all. I say all this not to re-review the colander but to say that I am confident that this drainer will also stand the test of time in terms of the collapsing rubber (especially because there is no dishwasher for it to go into, so even less wear and tear).I will update over time should I be proven otherwise.

Perfect fit for my kitchen sink (90" wide x 19" length) and it has the clean and simple look I was looking for. This doesn't hold everything we (a family of four) use for dinner---for that we use dishwasher--- but holds a few plates and cups after a quick breakfast or lunch.
Sinks come in many sizes and finding a dish rack to fit was quite the endeavor. I looked at many different racks on Amazon to try to find one to fit the small side sink in my kitchen. This over-the-sink drainer rack is the perfect one for my sink. It is well made and good looking and FITS! Quite often I will wash a glass or dish by hand and this allows me to let them dry in the rack. I don't get too excited about items like this but when something works, is made well and looks good...then I'm happy.
Exactly what I wanted. Small enough to fit inside the sink with still room for washing. & actually not a bad size. There is no silverware holder though.

  • This Yamazaki dish drainer has a clean and complex x-shape design
  • This dish drying rack is the perfect size to fit by your sink without taking up too much counter space, while fitting all kinds of kitchenware.
  • This dish drying rack is easy to assemble. Just connect the pieces together to create the two level rack.

This looks nice but it is not a good design for drying dishes. Anything that is not a plate will roll right off and possibly break. As a result, you can't fit many dishes on here at all. There is also no spot for drying utensils. I would rather have an ugly but functional dish rack.
I use my drying rack frequently, so it's out all the time. I like how the black blended in beautifully on the dark granite countertop. I have a small kitchen, so I loved the small footprint of this. Even though I measured in advance and had sufficient vertical space, the height of it made it look oversized for the room. Because of this, I reluctantly returned it. Despite this, I believe it would work well in a more spacious kitchen.
Things slide off sideways.

I didn't think there would be so many factors to consider when buying a dish drying rack, but apparently people use them in a lot of different ways! I'll tell you how I use it and try to address some of the other ways as well. Apparently some people keep it in the sink, some people like being able to put it away in a cupboard when not in use, some people only use it for certain types of hand wash only dishes etc. Call us lazy, but I try to avoid buying/using hand wash only dishes at all costs. Also, our dish drying rack lives on the counter next to the sink. ALWAYS. And it almost always has something in it. You know how Tupperware in the fridge often just becomes the garbage can's 'waiting room'? Well, the dish drying rack in our house is pretty much the waiting room for the dishwasher.SO, that being said, I was looking for something to replace the crusty, stinky old Walmart purchased Rubbermaid dish drying rack and plastic stand that was like 4 years old with something that would not only do the job, but would look sleeker and sexier while doing it (since it lives on the counter and doesn't get put away). Here's what I really like about this dish drying rack:- First and foremost, it looks much nicer/more modern than the old 'maid' I replaced it with (see side by side photo comparisons). The half chrome, half rubberized coated frame with rounded corners has a very sleek and unique look to it that I liked a lot. Assuming it won't rust as promised, I'm really pleased with how it looks sitting on the drying mat I bought to go under it.- It has a decent capacity for holding dishes, especially utensils. You can see that its utensil holder is much roomier than old maid's. I love that it doesn't take up too much precious counter top real estate and fits nicely under a cupboard unlike some of those behemoth two story high rise dish racks you'll find on Amazon!- It's simple. No frills. There are plate holders and that's about it. They hold plates very well.- Utensil holder can easily be removed and thrown in the dishwasher for cleaning but stays put when you want it to.- Rubberized coating on the bottom portion means it won't scratch up or slide around on whatever surface you put it.- It fits really perfectly in our standard sized sink (see pics)! I had never considered keeping it IN the sink before, but I actually might now!- One side has a holder for glasses/cupsWhat I don't like as much:- The only thing I preferred about the old maid to this drying rack is that old maid's plate holders were positioned a bit off center (see pic) leaving a larger area on one side for misc stuff. I really liked that. This drying rack's plate holders are dead center. If you're not drying plates it makes things a little more awkward working around them. Not a deal breaker, but not optimal IMO.- While I love that it has 4 cup holders on one side, in my testing it doesn't actually accommodate 4 cups at once. They're too close together. This was the case for glass tumblers, standard size glasses and anything bigger. Maybe if all you're using are little kids sippy cups it'll work out, but as is, it only would accommodate 2 glasses at a time for me (see pic). Also, it should be noted that this drying rack DOES NOT come with anything to put under it. No tray, no mat. This was fine with me as I wanted to buy a separate mat for it myself. I ended up getting the Norpro microfiber 18" x 16" mat in black and they go together perfectly. There is even room on the mat to lay some big knives or other things to dry next to the rack. I'll pull the mat out from under the rack once a week and throw it in the washing machine. Easy peasy lemon squeezey! I guess that's all there is to be said about a dish drying rack! In summary, if you're looking for something that will look nice(r) on your counter top, accommodate a variety of stuff or fit nicely in your sink, I can definitely recommend this! If you're looking for something that you can store out of sight when not in use, I might keep looking for something that folds up. Hopefully this helps someone else!I did NOT receive this item for free or at a discount.
This dish rack is poorly designed and the quality is also poor. The spacing of the frame on the sides is too wide so that small items fall through. The plate rack spacing is such that plates fall through to touch the draining mat. The silverware holder is only connected at the top unlike the photo so that falls over with added weight. I have to prop it against the wall to prevent that from happening. Finally, with only six months of moderate use by a single person who does not cook (i.e. I only use it for ceramic, glass and plastic dishes), the chrome plating has begun to rust. I have no idea why this would get such high ratings by others.
First and foremost, I do not get paid to write reviews nor did I receive this product for free in exchange for a good review.I've been using this dish rack for about a month now and I love it. I don't always hand wash my dishes, but having this rack available is always helpful. I can stack quite a few plates in there, plus a handful of glasses. No issues with rust so far and the coated feet does help a little bit so that the rack isn't always slipping and sliding.I will update at a later time with any issues or concerns.

Rusted in under 1 year of use, very disappointingI am currently in the midst of reaching out to simplehuman to see how they will respond, will update this review accordingly if I get a positive response to my request
2017 Merry Christmas story... We originally bought this dish rack in 2013 when it had a slotted bamboo knife holder (miss that feature!). We were very happy with it until one of the wire feet broke off. This is the fragile part that other reviewers talk about - the area of plastic where the wire feet attach to the base - it’s really the Achilles heel of the design! Our original rack had a 3-year warranty and, of course, the foot broke off just after 3 years.I didn’t want to spend $80 to get another dish rack that would break in 3 years, so I got the OXO Good Grips Convertible dish rack for $40. I liked that dish rack, but my wife hated it and complained that it was too small. My solution was to get a second OXO, but she demanded that we get another full size Simple Human dish rack. Since I am the cook and she is the dish washer, I searched in vain for a bargain at TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, etc. but only could find the small version of the Simple Human dish rack.I finally found a good price on Amazon (Black Friday Lightening Deal) and put it under the tree for Xmas 2017. What’s funny is that this dish rack was my wife’s most prized gift, beating out jewelry and a new Vitamix! They say in marriage, it’s the little things that make a difference. Who new that a dish rack could bring such marital bliss?Bottom line - this is the one and only dish rack that works for us and we will keep buying it despite its flaws. It works great, looks great, and now has a 5-year warranty. So it’s 5 stars simply because nothing else will do! When (not if) it breaks, we will get a warranty replacement or buy another. I’ll put another under the tree for Xmas 2022!
Yes, I do feel kind of stupid for buying a $50 dish drying rack. But do I love it? Also yes. This is the greatest dish rack I've ever had, and a huge step up from the awful plastic ones you can get at Target. Like everything Simplehuman sells, it is expertly designed with features that MAKE SENSE: a huge tray under the ENTIRE dish holder that is angled enough to let water actually drain; a separate spout that swivels independently of the tray that you can point any way you want; feet that raise it up off the counter so you can tell if any water spills out... They have seriously thought of everything, and I can't think of a single thing that I don't like about this dish rack. Yeah, it's $50, but you get a 5 year warranty from the seller and wont have to toss it in a year for breaking or being useless. Also it looks pretty cool sitting on the counter.

I've been searching for the perfect dish rack for over a year now, and apparently the 4th time is the charm! I was hesitant to buy this, mainly because of the price, but figured I'd give it a try after seeing all the positive reviews and photos. I've spent over $100 in the last year on total duds, anyway. It arrived looking just like the featured photos and was easy to put together. It's rather large, but we do not have a dishwasher and cook constantly, so that was a plus for us. My boyfriend and I let a whole weekend's worth of dishes pile up before this bad boy arrived, and ALL of them fit in the rack at one time. Granted, I did a little Tetris with the dishes as I loaded them, but I really wanted it to hold all of them so I could post this extra happy review. Check out my photos and you'll see how ridiculously large my dish load was.Previous to this one, I had purchased a Maxware 2-tier drying rack (Maxware 23-Inch Dish Rack, Chrome). It couldn't fit even half the amount of dishes and it wasn't sturdy. Don't hesitate to spend the extra money on the PremiumRacks model - you won't regret it.
I was pretty excited about the design and potential for this rack, however issues arose immediately during setup. The top tier rack connects to the bottom by plastic clamps. You assemble it by inserting the metal legs into brackets on the clamp. And that's where the problem is. The plastic of the clamp is a hair too thin, and the material is rather brittle. It's delicate. The plastic cracked immediately upon inserting the first leg into it's corresponding hole. I then put a little dish soap on the second leg to ease insertion. That did the trick. But then when I clamped the bracket onto the lower wire rack, the plastic around leg #2 split. So... both plastic areas around the legs are compromised and can't support the upper rack. I gummed the thing up with epoxy and let it set overnight and that has my rack up and running now. But I would strongly advise against purchasing this rack. For its $50 price point, it's completely not worth it. The $30 kitchenaid rack it replaced was sturdy in comparison. Lastly, the drip trays fit awkwardly in the undercarriage. Doesn't seem to be designed to rest in there snugly. I hate to say it, but I'm not going through the hassle of returning this. Dish racks only last about a year before rust kills them. So I'll suck it up and slather epoxy all over this thing. But others should be wary.
The design and aesthetic are nice. Pros are all listed in other reviews. Product gets three stars from me because:- Drain tray doesn't drain. The plastic is warped such that the lip is a good half inch higher than the floor of the tray. I plan on heating and warping the tray to fix the problem, but I shouldn't have to do this with a premium product.- Product did not ship with assembly instructions. Not a huge deal, but a few pieces we non-obvious and required comparison with pictures on the internet to see what they were supposed to do. Again, not something I would have expected in a $60+ product.

I love this dish rack. As someone with a small NYC kitchen, the rack solves a number of problems.FORM: It gets rid of the visual clutter inherent in 2-tier dish racks. It also takes up less counter space than other single level dish racks when the sliding bottom is unextended. Lastly, it is visually lovely - a true designer piece. The white is NOT pure white, but rather off white. Anyone who's had white plastic go yellow on them will understand why off white is a much better choice and, indeed, is much more aesthetically pleasing than pure white would be.FUNCTION: Aside from aesthetics, it also just does its job well. The extending piece is great for bowls, while the rubberized prongs and utensil holder take care of everything else. The drain spout works BEAUTIFULLY. I've been using the rack for over 2 months now, and haven't had to do more than a quick swipe with the sponge to keep the whole thing looking like it just came out of the box. I'll definitely be buying more products from the Joseph Joseph line.
If you are washing cups only then this is for you all your plates must be flat. The spikes I call it will not hold up a large glass cover the spikes are too low so the cover does not stay up. My thermos for my coffee will not even stand, Like I said if you are going to wash cups only then this is for you, for any one else DO NOT BUY.
So sorry this did not work out. One of my favorite plates fell out and broke. It just does not take the place of the old time Rubbemaid dish drainer. Not enough support for the dishes.
