I've come back twice to edit my review after having this skillet for almost 2 months & it still gets 5 stars. I just love this thing. I bought the grill that goes in the skillet directly from the manufacturer at gopresto.com- it was $10 bucks & I figured it would be worth it in the long run- I like using it when I'm warming up frozen pizza's - they come out nice & cheezy with a crispy crust. I've literally made anything you can think of with this little pan, it's so versatile. I've used it to fry, steam, broil, grill, slow cook, etc. I will never go back to a stove top for frying because this heats so evenly, my fried chicken comes out amazing and gets rave reviews EVERY SINGLE TIME. Making rice in this thing is fail proof because the lid is really good at trapping in all the steam. The only thing I haven't figured out how to do successfully is bake a cake in this thing. I tried a couple times & it was a major fail so if anybody reading this has any tips- please let me know! But two months of almost daily use & this skillet is still going strong. I even let it soak overnight (by mistake) which I saw other reviewers advise not to do & there's still no peeling. I'm so happy with my purchase. I did a lot of research before purchasing this item & I'm happy I did because it's an amazing product for the price.

I bought this July 10, 2011. I use it several times a week to fry meat, fish and/or potatoes. The non-stick coating has started to degrade in a circle where the heating element is. I used to fry at 250°. Later I changed to 300°.I've been very happy with it and am now ordering a replacement.

UPDATE: WARNING DO NOT BUY!!! I bought this on December 21 slightly over a month ago. Initially I was extremely happy with the product. See my first review below. BUT after a month of use the non-stick coating started to scratch and flake off. I HAVE ONLY USED NON-STICK SAFE UTENSILS. I called Zojirushi customer support only to be told the warranty does not cover the pan. The rep said "you can still use the pan" the coating is not toxic. Hello, I don't want that in my food toxic or not! Very cheap and poor non-stick coating for a pan that cost $140. Very disappointed in Zojirushi, I thought their name meant quality but I guess I was wrong. To late to return to Amazon, Will not buy another Zojirushi product. We sold our house and have moved to a temporary location until our new house is built. I have a gas stove but the temporary location only has electricity. I have been cooking with electric skillets, toaster oven and instant pot for the past several months. I had a very inexpensive (CHEAP) electric skillet that didn't heat well or evenly and was difficult to cook with. So I began searching for a quality electric skillet and decided on this skillet, Zojirushi EP-RAC50. I can't comment on the long term durability of this product because I haven't had it long enough but I have used this every day and so far it has exceeded my expectations . Here are my initial thought about this skillet:Pros1. Very well made excellent quality. The controls and material seems solid, in other words doesn't feel cheap.2. Gets very hot and heats evenly. I haven't noticed any hot or cool spots over the cooking surface which was a huge plus for me. It has a max 480 degrees setting which only a very few skillets claim. I can not verify this by actually measuring the temperature but I do know it gets much hotter that other skillets I've used.3. Very easy to clean due to the cooking pan being removable.4. Comes with 2 pans, a deep pan for soups, stew, etc. and a shallow pan for cooking steaks, eggs or anything you would use a regular fry pan for. It also has a steamer rack as well.5. Very Versatile skillet.Cons1. My biggest and only complaint about this skillet is the pans are not flat. They are slightly domed in the center which cause oil or liquid to run to the edges of the pan. I do not like this at all and is the single reason for the 4-star rating and I considered a 3-star rating if not for all the pluses I mentioned.Neutral1. The instruction/Recipe book would be nice to have more recipes.2. It takes a couple of minutes to heat up. A little longer than other electric skillets I've used but not surprising since the heating element of most skillets is integral to the pan. It take a little longer to transfer heat to the removable pans of this skillet.All-in-all this is a fantastic skillet and well worth the price. If the cooking pans were flat this would be a 5+ rating.

I've had this applicance for 3 months and I'm sorry I waited so long to purchase this. It's a fantastic electric skillet and pot combination. I cook hash browns in the skillet, perfectly, and make soups in the pot. The inserts are lighter in weight, easy to clean and wipe dry. Quite frankly, I was having a problem with a front burner in my gas stove, which would cost $350 to repair or $$$$ to replace the 20 year old cooktop. This item has allowed me to handle over 80% of my cooking needs and I don't miss that gas burner any longer. I would think this would be perfect appliance for a person/couple starting up a kitchen or perhaps a dorm room. The only very minor issue I have with it, is the cord connection to the base. It's designed perfectly for safety, its connection is more magnetic, than "inserting" into the fitting, so if someone tripped over the cord and you had it sitting on a dining room table, the skillet and contents most likely would remain where they are. That being said, if it's sitting on your kitchen counter, just recheck the cord before use and make sure it's still attached to the base.

I bought the Zojirushi EP-RAC50 Gourmet d'Expert 1350-Watt Electric Skillet. It's really nicely made and easy to use. It's a very well made product and I love it. Although it is rather large and suitable for a decent size family. The size is like having an Extra Large pizza in the middle of your table, so you'll need to accommodate room for the size. It's deep so probably can feed at least 8 people. I use this for Shabu Shabu (dipping thinly sliced meat in broth served with dipping sauce) and it really can be used for a large family of 8 or more. As a result, you'll need a bit of storage when this is not in use. If space is an issue, it may be better to look for smaller alternatives like the Aroma Housewares ASP-137 3-Quart/10-inch 3-in-1 Super Pot with Grill Plate, White/Black.

I loved the skillet like this that I owned previously. It is great for cooking for a large group/family. Sadly, this unit is defective. It has a section that does not heat. I will try to return for a replacement. See photo of pancakes with one corner remaining as raw batter.UPDATE: I did contact the company for a replacement. I was required to pay $10 immediately to "activate the warranty" and then the returning shipping was also my responsibility...~$20. But after spending this additional $30 and waiting a couple of weeks, they did send me a new frying pan which works. So I am fairly happy. But I still think that $30 should have been their responsibility. What's with an "activate the warranty" fee? That said, it is written up in the fine print of the warranty in that way. So I guess I should have known... except it was a gift to me... and I didn't read all the warranty information. But at least they stood behind their product.

I tried, Cuisinart. I reallly, really tried. This electric skillet looks so nice....its lightweight, easy to clean and sturdy. I have had great luck with other products (food processor, toaster, blender), but I have to vent my frustration with this product and your company. I have never left a negative rating for a product on Amazon...but want to shed light on this for anyone considering this unit. This was a Christmas gift to replace my 14 year old Rivals electric skillet (~$20 from Target). Based on the brand reputation, my prior experience with the brand and the other favorable reviews, I decided to ask for this model over multiple other options that were less than half the cost. I use an electric skillet about twice a month to sautee, pan fry, etc. Its been part of my cullinary repitoire for over 20 years. Why not splurge on a good one?Well, I'll tell you why....this product simply failed to work properly. It would preheat really nicely and quickly....however as soon as I would start to cook, the temperature would drop and the heating element would not come back on. I would turn the dial to crank the heat and it would kick in again. Ultimately, I'd end up with the dial cranked to max and it would still stop heating. Obviously this creates an inefficient cooking environment. I contacted Cuisinart 3 months later, and they happily offered to replace the defective unit under warranty.....if I pay $10 for them to ship me a new unit AND pay to ship the unit back (another $10). Basically, 20% of the total cost of the product just to get a replacement for a defective unit.OK...fine. The warranty exchange went smoothly. Got my new unit. Cooked great for a couple of cooks. Then....same exact issue starts happening. I contact Cuisinart and they happily offer to replace the defective unit that was replacing a defective unit....if I pay another $10 for them to ship me a new unit AND pay to ship the unit back (another $10) as per the fine print of the warranty. That puts me at $40 (or 40% of the unit cost) just to take another chance that I don't get a lemon. I understand paying the shipping on the first defective unit, but the second one seems like it should be on them.I am not going to continue playing this game. I have decided to share my experience with this product and the Cuisinart brand/policy. I am going to save the $20 to return/replace the 2nd defective unit and buy a new version of the $20 one that lasted me 14 years. There is no magical technology or benefit of this unit over the $20-40 ones from lower end brands. An electric heating element heating a metal cooking vessel with a feedback loop. Clearly the extra money does not by a better temperature sensor with a narrower range. I am likely to not buy a Cuisinart product again.

You will regret falling for this skillet’s pretty face, as I do. I have used electric skillets an average of 5 days a week for 35+ years. I have owned various brands and up to 3 skillets at a time. When I first saw this Cuisinart Skillet my eyes lit up. I had to have it. I ignored reviews warning against it.To be sure, aesthetically it is a thing of beauty. And it has a good weight. However, it is useless. My skillet does not regulate temperature at all. It heats and keeps on heating. In addition, it buzzes growing louder and louder as it gets hotter. I did not return it thinking I would live with it. I cannot. It sits shiny with my old, beat up $40 skillets mocking me. Walk away. The older units may be okay. There is a reason this model has been discontinued.

Added 2 updates below.Got home from work and was excited to see my package on the porch. Excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I opened the box. My pan is full off scratches, see pic. I probably would have lived with the few small surface scratches but these are extensive and the deep scratch in the bottom is horrible and the non-stick coating will quikly start peeling. The shipping box was fine but the product package had a smashed corner with some broken styrofoam inside but this did not cause any damage to the pan. There was nothing loose inside the package to scratch the pan so it was packaged in this condition, sad.I thought DeLonghi was more reputable and I was getting a higher quality product including some quality control.Update on 8/13/17, last four picsReturned the first skillet for exchange, kudos to Amazon for making it quick and easy. When the second Skillet came the cardboard was torn and the styrofoam insert was broken in half. It had obviously been opened and most likely a returned item for the same reason I returned mine. Upon inspecting the pan it appeared dirty and scratched as bad as the first one. At this point I was fairly angry for receiving not only one but two shoddy products in a row and was about to return it for a refund and go with another brand. Since there were no deep scratches down to the metal I decided to clean it instead of throwing in the towel. The skillet cleaned up relatively well except for a few scratches, most of the light ones are barely visible but two scratches are shown in the last picture. I want to like this skillet and although it was scratched all to hell and excessively dirty right out of the box it seems to be built fairly well and because of all the 5-star reviews I may try to cook with it before returning. Hopefully this thing can cook better than it gives a first (and 2nd) impression. If it cooks as well as the reviewer say I might just keep it.I will update again after using.9/26/17 updateRazed my rating to 4 stars from 2The aluminum pan thickness distributes heat evenly thus cooks without hot spots. The DeLonghi skillet is in fact the thickest I've seen and thicker than another name brand a friend uses at work and cost $10 more. The heat control work good and seems to be very accurate.I will in fact buy another one to put in my camper.Honesty I would give 10 stars if DeLonghi took more care to protect it from damage.PS. I work in manufacturing and I suspect that these pans are being stacked inside each other during the manufacturing process, if you get one off the top it will be good, one's from the bottom will be increasingly damaged.NOTE to DeLonghi: I hope you don't go down the cheaper for higher profit margin path. I gladly pay more for "real" quality.

Use mainly for bacon and eggs. It will not simmer something like a pot roast. The temperature control is an on/off switch so either it is full on or full off and the temperature swing means it stays on at full blast for about 15 seconds boiling graving and liquids and then off for about a minute with no simmering or bubbling. With the control on the right side the further away side is the hottest, the closest a little cooler and the middle more cooler. You have to move stuff like bacon or sausage around else some cooks faster. Looking for something better even if it cost a little more.

Great skillet. Maintains temperature well. Very large and easy to mix stuff without spilling all over the counter. I mainly use it for casseroles so have not noticed any unique hot or cold spots. After about 6 months of very light use the nonstick coating is coming off. I have always just gently hand washed the skillet.

This pan was great when it was new. After three months the bottom turned black where the heating element is. Everything stuck to it in that ring and we could not get it clean again. It was very disappointing considering all the raves the copper surface bottoms are getting. I would send it back but I threw the box away. I will toss it and buy an old fashioned teflon one. They last longer and are half the price.
November 10, 2017
I bought this electric skillet 6 months ago. I wanted to be able to give a review based on using the skillet for 6 months using 3-4 times weekly. In my life i have owned over 10 electric skillets from different manufacturers. This Bella copper skillet is definitely the best i have ever had. The temperature setting is spot on (tested with a thermometer). The finish looks as new today as it did when i pulled it out of the box. It it so easy to clean, just wipe it out with a dry paper towel to remove any residue, hand wash with soapy water and it looks brand new. I remember reading mixed reviews before purchasing and it made me skeptical about purchasing. I am glad I with my gut instinct and took a chance on the purchase. I am purchasing another to have a back up. Dont hesitate purchasing, you wont be disappointed!
August 24, 2018
I thought these copper ceramic Skillets were stain and scorch resistant. After a few months of moderate use it now has a element burn mark (a circle in the center of the pan) that will not come out. In my opinion this Skillet is no better than a traditional Teflon coated product. I do not recommend upgrading to this product..
