I was looking to switch from Dansko/Sanita pro type shoes to something with more cushion and a little more comfortable and these were suggested by several nurses. I am a nurse and work 12 hr shifts. I like these a lot and find them more comfortable than Dansko, plus they are not as heavy and I am less likely to roll my ankle now! I purchased 38 and have to wear really padded socks (like Thorlos) and added a seude heel insert and they still slide off my heel just a little, but I don't step out of them and they aren't causing blisters. 37 were too short for my toes though although they stayed on heel perfectly. The trick is to look at the right size chart as Alegria has two different ones and the sellers on Amazon don't always list the correct size chart for the right shoe, although it may not matter for some people. I wear a 38 in both, but the 38's in the "NEW" size chart (size 8-8.5) for their newer lines of shoes (like Dayna, Keli, etc.) don't fit quite as well for me with my narrow heels. 38 in "classic" chart (Seville, classic clog, Debra, etc.) is size 7.5-8 and fit a little better since with thick socks I am about an 8. I am providing the link to their site about sizing and how they should fit: [...] If you go to Alegriashoeshop.com and select your shoe and the sizing tab, it tells you which sizing chart should be viewed for that shoe. Also it says to leave 1/4 inch foot bed around your foot (toes and heels shouldn't touch), but with the closed back styles I didn't think they were supposed to be false backs like Danskos so not sure about that advice for every style. I don't have wide feet, but enjoy the roomy toe box.

I love Alegria's anyway, but I have had some Mary Jane styles that just didn't cut the mustard. They had no cushion in the heel area and were not comfortable. THESE are comfortable. I wear them all day at work and spend a considerable amount of time walking and going up and down stairs, etc. These seem to have quite a high arch compared to all of my other Alegria's. I'm not sure why that is. It's definitely more noted in this pair than any other. So, if you're looking for the arch to be higher, these will work great for that. They don't bother me with the arch being higher, but it was just an adjustment as my others do not have such a high arch so I wasn't expecting it from these either. They seem to have a bit of a thicker heel/sole than some also. But, not significant. I think they just might be the older model that has those thicker areas. Not a problem. These are very cute and with the various colors that are "in" the brown, I can wear them with other colors easily also and it makes them a bit more "fun".hope this helps!

Most uncomfortable shoe ever. I'm a physician who can work more than 80h per week. I bought these shoes to replace an old pair of alegrias that were no longer serviceable. I was so excited to receive these shoes that I put then right on. Tight over the top of my foot, tight over the widest part of my feet. They just fit weird. A lot of money down the drain...Update-- So I am really cheap and felt like for the amount I paid, it would be worth it to see if the leather softened. I wore the straps as loose as possible and probably two weeks in the shoes got progressively comfortable. Now nearly a year out, I would say that these shoes are five star shoes-- I could walk forever in them. I personally think that they are kind of ugly but I always get compliments when I wear them. Point being, if you purchase these shoes consider buying a little larger that your usual size or put the strap as loose as possible and know that it will take a couple of weeks for the leather to stretch. Alegria: Make the strap one inch longer and you have the perfect shoe!!

First off, I have to say that I really love the Vionic line of shoes. I have a pair of Vionic loafers, a pair of Vionic ballet flats, a pair of Vionic shoe inserts for non-Vionic shoes and another pair of sandals similar to this pair. I have PF in my right foot and it started to flare up in the left foot as well a year and a half ago....had to do cortisone, and radio frequency pulse treatments in the right foot. Since then, I cannot tolerate flat shoes more than a couple hours before my feet start hurting....so all I can wear are supportive shoes like this & still look cute. I am.a size 7.5 to 8 in most of my shoes, so I ordered a 7 in these because Vionic tends to run a bit bigger. But I had to return & order an 8 because I just felt like the 8bwas a more true fit of these. The thong part between my toes was very comfortable and soft. The footed is flexible, light in weight and feels almost cushioned. I wore them all day my first time wearing them & they were lovely! Plus, I got tons of compliments on them! I also love the style because from the top & side note they look like regular, stylish sandals.....not orthopaedic sandals! 😀 This style i like because i can dress them up with dark jeans and a pretty blouse, or I can dress them down with a t-shirt and shorts(I live in Texas....we don't have winter here). I admit they are a little bit pricey, but given the money I have put into healing my feet with the treatments, overnight boot, etc.....these were well worth the price. I have found that my other Vionic shoes I have are well constructed and hold up nicely. These shoes are AWESOME!

I have already had several pairs of these shoes and was excited to replace a pair that was worn out. They are great shoes! BUT I received a very, very worn pair. Someone's foot print was worn into the footbed and even the label had begun to rub off. So disappointed in this order!

Do not by these shoes . They do not offer enough support with the straps and you foot slips around in them .I stepped off a curb and my foot slipped sideways and I sprained my ankle ! The bottom of the shoe is fine but the straps are too arrow to give propersupport

[EDITED BELOW ~1 YEAR LATER] So I was looking for a minimalist shoe that I could easily slide on and off when I'm in or out of the house, and could walk around a bit in (up to 2 miles or so). I ordered these in an 8.5, which is my usual size. Got these yesterday and I've been wearing them since. Usually when I wear flats, etc, they slip off of my heel depending on the fit. Although I have to use my finger to pull the shoe on, this means it won't come off while I'm walking and moving around. My go-to shoes before buying these are (were) Moosehide Mocs from Minnetonka, which I love for their durability, but they don't breathe very well. So my feet get very sweaty and I have to take them off frequently. That hasn't (yet) been the case with these.Pros:- Snug (but comfortable) fit.- Very breathable- Minimalist look.- Soles are really comfy for how straight forward they are. I'll be curious to see how these hold up.Cons:- While these aren't intended (for me at least) to walk long distances in, when I do, it's actually the elastic on the top of my foot that becomes noticeable.- Although I just got these, I'll be curious to see how long they hold up. Guess I wouldn't call that a "con" yet, but we'll see.EDIT/UPDATE: So I haven't worn these for a bit since it's cold out now - but figured I should update on what these shoes are like after wearing them for about a year. I spilled bleach on them while working in the yard, so that's on me - but these shoes have stayed really comfy. The fabric glued onto the sole started to slip and fold up in places, which is a bother, but I didn't notice this too much when walking. Besides that, the left shoe had started to develop a hole where my big toe nail is - likely from all the pushing up and rubbing on the canvas. These shoes have held up for how much I've used them, especially for the price. They look incredibly worn now - but if I need to run out real quick like to get the mail, they're my go to. I plan on buying another pair of these for spring.

I love Sanuk. These are well made, very comfortable, my toes do touch the fabric but being cotton they stretch after a few wears. I am afraid they will get very dirty so I won't be wearing these when it rains.

I bought these shoes to replace an old pair of Sketecher boat shoes. I've tried on other Sanuks in stores and loved how soft they were. These shoes fit well and I like how they look, but I was a little disappointed that the foot bed wasn't as soft and squishy as other Sanuk shoes and flip flops I have tried. That's not to say they are uncomfortable. They are good enough comfort wise--a basic flat tennis shoe with no support. Great for slipping on and running errands. I probably wouldn't wear them for any extensive walking. Fit was good. I wear an 8, have a wider toe box and narrow heal, and the 8 in this shoe was good. It was a little loose in the heal, but it's not sliding and the upper is so soft, that it wouldn't cause any blistering. Overall, I like them, I have just spoiled myself with memory foam foot beds, so I wish these were a bit softer to walk on.

Definitely worth the money for a Lucky Brand or equivalent leather flat dupe! True to size with no break in period since not real leather but feels just as smooth. No toe cleavage and no weird noises when walking. I wear between a 7 and 7.5 and bought the 7.5 in these to be on the safe side.
December 9, 2018
I had to order gold flats at the last minute for an event, so I purchased these Amazon Basics flats. I'm between a 7-7.5, and ordered the 7.5. They looked a tad bit loose at first in the toe length (they had a weird wrinkle in the fabric of the toebox), but as I danced that night, I was happy I didn't size down to a 7. The 7.5 fit very well, but they were not very comfortable; and the seams on the insides of the shoes were a bit painful where fabrics overlapped and were glued. Unfortunately, upon receiving the shoes, they looked very cheap and plastic-y. I would compare them to shoes purchased from the cost-effective big box store that starts with a "W"; but those shoes are about half the price, for the same quality. These shoes, in gold, are not worth what I paid for them; but I can't return because I wore them once. They look very worn after one use and will be discarded. I won't wear them again, nor would I purchase shoes from this brand, again.
